Is there anyone else out there that believes June only lasted about 10 days? It's hard to complain though, July is my birthday month! :) However, before we settle into July, here are my favorite things from the past month (aka... the 10 days of June).
1. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery App Game-
Have I mentioned how obsessed I am with Harry Potter? Anyone who knows me can tell you that HP is my favorite book series of all time and Harry Potter World in Universal is my happy place. No Shame. With that being said, I've been playing the new HP game and so far, I have very few complaints. The story is set a few years before Harry enters Hogwarts, so it's a cool twist on what happens at Hogwarts before the book series picks up. Definitely start playing this game if you are a HP nerd like me! Just try not to get too annoyed at how long it takes for your energy to replenish...
2. Gilmore Girls-
If you have never watched Gilmore Girls, shame on you. I'll admit, I was late watching this show myself. I didn't start watching until several years after it was over, but I'm so glad I did. I've been rewatching my favorite seasons (Rory's college years) over the past few weeks. The best reasons to watch Gilmore Girls: witty banter and Logan Huntzberger. My mom has never seen it, so this has been our recent show to watch together. It's fun to spot all the similarities between my mom and I and Rory and Lorelai Gilmore. Just watch it... trust me.
3. The Incredibles 2
FINALLY. That's really all there is to say about that. The world has been waiting on a sequel for 14 years and the wait is finally over. I saw this at the drive in theater and enjoyed it immensely. Although fairly predictable, it was fun to see after waiting for so many years. Jack-Jack was the greatest!!! Jack-Jack vs the Raccoon... lol
4. Law School Events
One of the schools I've been accepted to had a "Money, Music, and BBQ" event for the incoming class. There was a financial aid meeting in the law building with tons of information about financing law school, followed by a lunch held at a local BBQ restaurant. It was an awesome opportunity to connect with fellow students and talk with a few 2Ls and 3Ls. I really enjoyed getting to know/meet some of the people in the same section as me and I think this will make starting in the fall a lot easier!
(More information about my law school decision here.)
5. The Devil in the White City
This is the book I'm currently reading and it's wonderful! The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson is about the 1893 World's Colombian Exposition in Chicago from the perspective of the designers and about the famous serial killer, H.H. Holmes, during this time. It's been a goal of mine to read all of the books on the Rory Gilmore reading list- all the books Rory reads/references in the show Gilmore Girls (300+ books)! I am nowhere near finishing the challenge, but this is a good book to mark off the list!
Hope you all had a great 4th of July!
